I took my wife with me today for my last hurrah (unless I can sneak out Sunday night). I'd caught some pogies for her to use, but she was holding her own with the gulp mullet so she wasn't using them. They started dying so I put one on a Carolina rig and let it soak...she says "I think somethings trying to eat your bait" I picked up the pole and as soon as I get a little pressure on the line, sucker takes off, figured it was a nice red so I handed her the pole so I could video, fish starts running sideways and to the boat, all I could think was that I hung a monster trout and just gave away a boat...luckily it was only a 26" red. PHEW!

I will be fishing in my kayak. Still looking for something over 5 pounds. I have been catching many in the 3-4 pound range. Any ideas of where to fish?

I fished my a$$ off for the last 3 weeks. I caught a $hit ton of fish but no tagged reds or monster trout. I caught several trout in the 3-4 pound range but nothing close to a winning STAR trout. Best of luck to you guys. I'm offshore so I'll have to wait until next year to win a new boat.
