Default Grande isle this weekend

Heading to grande isle this weekend with the hanko. Don't really know too much about fishing grande isle for specks and reds. Any advice or pointers would be appreciated. Only place I really know of is fishing the beach.

Do you have a VHF? If so let me know what channel you stay on? I plan to put in at Port Sulphur and will be on the water at 0600. Will start heading Southwest looking for clear water. I have no issues helping out when it comes to finding the fish.

head up caminada pass following the jetties. you can fish bay andre all the way up to little lake at leeville . Plenty of areas to duck out of the wind and look for current on points.
If it's doable i would try the surf at least once at dawn or dusk. Full moon is tonight

Solid trout bite on Vudu or live shrimp just north GI. Find a point with current or wind and get after it. I caught some really nice trout 18 inch fish over oyster in the marsh on swim baits farther north. Water temp is high 70s. Guides have been limiting by 10 am. Weather should be good Sat to try the beach. N 5-10mph. Good luck.

Fished the surf at Elmer's Saturday morning. In the water at 0550. Started at the parking area heading east, stopping every 50 yards or so to fan cast. Water was prettier the further east I got. NOT ONE bite until about 0900! Saw a wader catch a nice trout and miss another. Got about a cast away from him, tied on a Mirrodine and it was on. Caught about 50 in a row, culled out the 17 biggest. Dolphins moved in during the bite, but the trout kept hitting. Had dolphins circling me about ten feet away in knee deep water, craziest thing I've seen in the surf. Only problem was carrying a stringer about a mile back to the truck. Great day in the water.
