Default Screw a top dog gimme a rubber ducky!

Got back into DFW area this afternoon...decided to hit a local pond. Didn't think to grab the tackle box as there was maybe an hour of daylight left...grabed a rod with a 1/4oz spinner bait and hit the pond...6th cast had a nice one hit at the bank and ripped my skirt off...made the run home and asked my brother who does not fish often if he wanted to join. We got to the pond and saw a baby duck swimming off. We moved down the bank and didnt see the duck anymore. He makes 2 casts and on the second sticks a nice 3 pound fish. He caught 2 nice fish in 10 minutes on a baby rattlesnake. This was the last fish...couldn't believe what I saw!!!

That's a dead duck. He continued to swallow it while out of water. I will post more pics when I clean it in the morning...I wonder what else is in his belly.

Bass are savage we are lucky they only gotvthat "sandpaper" as teeth , if they had a good set of choppers .... Good luck swimming in any freshwater! My buddy had a bass in an aquarium and he would feed it goldfish, we dumped prolly 15-20 in one day and the bass loaded up in em in prolly 10 seconds , gold fish were bulging out of it's mouth . Pretty bad arse

Had a peacock bass in a tank last year...fed it the same. Was INTENSE to watch him make them dissappear.

Picked up a book one time on how to make wooden lures, one of the lures they taught you how to make was a hand carved baby duck, pretty cool looking with tw sets of treble hooks hanging off the bottom

For a pond bass, I was surprised she was still full of eggs. Maybe that duckling swam too close to her bed. I would have thought the pond bass would be spawned out here because pond water warms much quicker than the lake.
