Default Cobia Fishin'

Looking for any tips on how far out I need to go out of grand chenier or cameron to get to cobia waters. Will be using a 22' skeeter bay so I won't be going too far. Any tips would be helpful.

Buddy saw some 55 miles out of FWC yesterday. Got one to bite but didn't hook it.

Go out about 7 to 10 buoys from the end of the jettys.
That's about as close as they normally get.
Some might be closer, but not many.

Fishin must be a lot easier than deer huntin! I'm gonna try that technique this coming season! Gonna ride circles around a thicket on my 4 wheeler & see if a deer pokes his head out!!!!
Sorry....couldn't help it

Try walking instead, making a little noise.....then sit a while. It might work.
