Default Need Baton Rouge Tree Service

Just moved in to my first house and there are two trees that are too close to the foundation and I want to take them down before they mess with the house and before hurricane season gets going.

I had someone offer to cut them down for me for a good price, but they are not licensed and insured. How important is it for them to be? Is it just depending on how willing I am to take a risk? Since they are so close to the house, I don't want them to mess the house up while taking the trees down.

Any recommendations on the sitatuation? Would like to get moving so I can get them down sooner rather than later.

Also, anyone recommend any tree services in Baton Rouge?

Thanks,
Jordan

Well thing is you gonna pay more for licensed and insured but if something happens and they aren't, your insurance isn't going to help you and you gonna pay out of pocket for any damages. So yea basically it depends on how much risk u willing to take.

Also, if they aren't insured and they get hurt on your place, they can sue you for whatever happens to them!

There's a guy in Gonzales that works in BR as well. He's a little high sometimes(so it seems) but, he's VERY good. The name of his company is Bass Tree Service. His number is 225-644-1236. Give him a call.

If you wanted to tackle it yourself, I do have the 8100lb ropes and hitch that I made for lowering limbs. It makes even the big ones able to be lowered with you thumb and index finger. I took a big oak tree down in my back yard last year bout this time for the same reasons you are wanting yours down.

I would call your insurance company and have them recommend someone they deal with. That way you are covered if something happens. We were going to take some trees out that were in the same exact situation you are talking about. I had the wife call to see if we could do it ourselves and they said we were on our own. The guy we used was fast and clean. He had all the right equipment and was state certified. I can't remember the name of the company so I am not much help with that.
