Personally I would stick with a yamaha or mercury over those engines. I would take a mako over the sea pro.

I have the 23.5 Sea Pro with a 225 4 stroke. I run about 48 loaded. Boat is solid and roomy. I was told it is a little rough but rpretty dry. I cant fill 80 gal tank up unless I unhook trailer from truck and lower tongue. On trailer the most is 3/4 full. I hate the railing since when u flip fish in it gets in the way. Another thing is they are out of business

i tournament fish out of a 22ft sea pro w a 225 optimax that thing handles some water i would say a 200 honda is underpowered for the 24ftr. the new makos are built by traker marina as well as the kenners , IMO the makos and kenners are now being built cheap with cheap plastic hardware . heres a video of us running in some really sloppy stuff in the sea pro in this video it is the first time ive gotten really wet from spray but it was blowin 25 mph so you will have that the 22 w a 200 opti runs in the mid-low 50's with a tournament load ( 2 men , fulltank, live wells full , lots of tackle )

in this second video you will see the camera flip around thats when i almost got thrown from the boat

I think SEA PRO was brought out or joined forces with Trophy (sp).........Also, I fish with a buddy of mine that has a 24' SEA PRO.........good boat but it would be better with a jack plate and trim tabs........He has a 225 OptiObama and with 80 Gallons of fuel, 3 men and gear it runs 42-44 WOT..........

I think the Kenner/Mako drama was overblown due to customer service issues in the past. Plus no one likes a takeover. Honestly....its the same hull and some of the best kenners were lacking all the glitz and glamour and made for pure fishing....not pagaentry. I've got a few pals running the 21.5 visions (same hull as the Mako) from the newer years ('04 and up) and they've never had any issues. They're very dry riding and smooth. I'd do some research on THT www.thehulltruth.com plenty of write ups and boat comparisons there.

As far as the hulls, I can't comment on either since I have never been in any of those two models.

As far as the engines, I can tell you this, as long as you stay away from the Susuki 300's, your good with either one. Both have great reliability and cost a fortune. However, I think you will find parts a little easier for the Susuki than the Honda. Some of our gaugers use the Honda's and they swear by them. I hate them because my deaf arse can't hear them and I keep trying to start them when they are already running!

Good point, not many people service hondas and harder to get parts.
