we went in chalmette this morning, saw some huge fish, hooked up on 3 and got them to the kayak and they got off.

I saw some reds passing under me that were in the 34-36 inch range in 4 foot of water around stumps. amazing.

The water temp was way too high for them to bite though, most place the temp was in the 90s and there was no tidal movement

well, fished the 2 foot rollers with the 40 knot winds for a little while. then ran to find something a little calmer. thought the wind would start to die later in the evening but i was wrong. fished a little spot on the south end and we managed 2 nice specks and 8 reds. water wasnt too bad but not real great either, good tide movement though. gonna try em again early in the a.m. before the broiler gets turned on.

i say go fishing every chance u get. Dirty or not> its better than sitting at home, and plus you might learn something when the conditions are tough.
