was the first boat at BSM this morning which was a shock that place is normally a freakin zoo. headed down the spoil canal against our better judgment , there was lightning everywhere but was to dark to really see the storm in the distance . made it about 10 miles before we decided to turn around . on the way out it was slick as glass then in a blink of an eye it was blowin 25-30 mph and the temp dropped 15 degrees thats when we turned around. made it back to BSM around 5:45am tied up and waited it out till about 7:45 - 8:00 am ran back out into the MRGO , eloi , fringes of black bay saw ABSOLUTELY NO oil. it was a very erie feeling out there today i only saw maybe 4 other boats , and for anyone who has ever fished the area knows thats un heard of even on a week day it reminded me of the Thursday before Gustav fishing Breton island everyone was hauling there stuff outta Venice and we were riding out to the island to spank dat arse!! very slow bite , nothing consistent the cleanest water was in the MRGO, eloi was decent. caught 15-20 2-3 lb specks on plastic finally got on a good bite and then the dolphins moved in i threw a little red back and a dolphin almost jumped in the boat smashin it . ran from the rain all day . BTW glenn said they don't have live bait but he is workin on it so looks like ALOT of people are gonna have to learn to use plastic
