a lot of people have told me they catch a lot from the beach. Is it possible to drift or anchor 300 - 500 yards off the beach and fish for them?

I used to go out to seabrook in lake pontchartrain and chum up bull sharks at night in the kayak. Talk about a sleigh ride when you get hooked up. I use 80lb braid on roller rods and 375lb twisted steel leader. Chunk out a mullet gut punched and hold on because you are going for a ride.

This time of year is great for sharks. Find jetties or shallow rigs and use a cut mullet and hold on. I know in GI at the close rigs you can catch all you and until your arms fall off.
