I've been wearing them pretty regular if I wade. The reasons were reinforced with the number of stingrays I caught during my last couple of trips

Only time you need them is when your fishing a muddy bottom......I just shuffle my feet. When you kick them in the side they just swim away......

Here is a pic of the ones that I wear. I know some say I'm too cautious but they also help protect your feet and legs around rocks and oyster reefs also.

Plus, I have no desire to be hit by a ray. I bought mine 2 sizes larger than my normal shoe size and they work good for me. I will admit that it takes a little getting used to them but the first time your bump a ray you keep fishing with confidence.....just my 2 cents....

And what happens when you kick one in the arse?!

I really thought this was a poke at Ray and bad weather! Lol!

If I were wading, I'd want them or something like em! I've seen the pics of the effects and, WOW!, they leave a heckuva mark!
