Default V. Bay 11/24/10

Went out today not hoping for much since i was bringing a 15 year old newbie to the sport. Drove up the cove nice and early and after catching 6-7 trout i got to meet speck-daddy, who is a fellow saltycajuner. Anyways.. we caught fish in the cove until 11:30ish bite was slow but steady (which i knew it wasn't going to turn on until later) but i moved to weeks bay where i found a producing spot as well as 12 other boats later on. Got on a steady bite and every now and then i would get on a school catching as fast as i could throw, and when i was on them i could see ppl pulling up their anchor and trolling toward me. Well after about my 3rd good schools boat were way too close for comfort, running and anchoring where my casts were landing. And I actually hooked and brought out the water a MONSTER probably 8-9lbs just true Monster fish that spit my hook. AFTER THAT the boats really moved in and killed my bite so I moved to a similar spot where there were no boats and started picking them up fast and ended up finishing my limit there.

Unfortunately my little fishing partner, only caught three fish but he had a blast reeling in a nice red with a loose drag that i rigged up for him lol I tried to get a good bite on the cork for him, but all they wanted was tightline and that's hard to fish by itself much less in 15-20mph winds.

Sorry the long read but I had a BLAST and so did my little net man. It was my first time bringing out a kid by myself, and the smiles on his face made the day by itself.

Default Very good catch

Good to see the trout still hanging around
I'm planning on fishing Cypremort point in the morning.
Country Boy, if you go to Prien I would like to get a report on that area, may take the wife out there on Sunday.
