Default Awesome day to have a fly rod

Me, Yak'em and another buddy went out yesterday to chase monster reds with the fly rod. We went deep into the Biloxi Marsh and she delivered. We got a slow start only seeing the occasional fish. Our last stop of the day made up for that ten fold. Within five minutes of rolling into the flat my buddy had a 30 pounder hooked-up! Unfortuanately, he lost that fish but we soon were looking at fish after fish 15 pounds or bigger. Ended the day seeing at least 30 fish around 20 lbs and 2 other fish that were pushing 40. Landed three fish for the day with a total weight of 62 pounds!

Great work!

you have a way with those big reds...its almost like you have a dreamcatcher on your rearview mirror and it catches your innermost dreams of redfish on flyrods...I'm just sayin'...

Feel the wolf...

All kidding aside...great job keep after dem biggens!!

I got 2 flyrods.......and almost never use them because I don't have anything but bream popping flys.

One of the rods is a 50+ year old bambo rod........wonder what it is worth today?

I need to get set up to use them.

What is the weights of the rods? What would you be targeting with the rods, I mean what species of fish would you like to catch?

Not sure what the weight is on the rods. I don't think the bambo is rated. It is a great rod for throwing flys to catch bream. Don't think I would risk it on a big red.

I have caught a few small trout on the glass rod I have. I think it is heavy enough to handle a big Red.

What "flys" would I need to catch a few Reds or trout?

check out geaux-outdoors.com

they are sponsor of this website and have quite a few flies to choose from. I know because I tie them. All the flies on that sight are proven red catchers. The trout teasers are good too.
