Got me a Skeeter boat from speckinabox. I'm looking for ideas on fixing it up a little. I was thinking about getting the casting decks sprayed with truck bedliner, but heard that it gets real slick when wet. Anybody got any input? I'm also looking for a good brand of fiberglass cleaner, and something to clean the galvanized trailer. Thanks...

To get the stains off use the works from the dollar store. Then use mcguires oxidation remover number 49 I think. And then go back with mcguires number 45 polish I think.

Go to harbor freight and spend the extra money on a variable speed buffer with the Terry cloth pads.

Makes it 10 times easier. If you have any other questions pm me and I will get you in touch with my dad. He is a beast on cleaning boats

I just spent a total of 12 hrs cleaning and compounding my bay boat. I got a 3m product that is a restorer/wax.
Went to Harbor freight and bought a polisher/sander with buffer pads. Put on thin with a paint brush not to sling everywhere. Work it in back n forth until it gets smooth and easy. The results are amazing on a dull boat. Do a 4x4 area at a time and dont let dry.

O yea I forgot to tell you that West Marine or Academy has a product that is like a acid that will take off the water line mark and most rust spost on a hull. You will need to compound and wax after you spray that since it strips the wax and opens the glass up.

FSR to clean the boat (water line), they have it at Academy. Very easy.

X2 starbrite is some strong stuff. Try not to breath it when u spray it on.

Cant get it on anything black or directly on alum trailer. Cleans boat great but you have to rewax or it will get stained again!

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to get started on restoring it the best I can. I've been looking for replacement parts like rod holders, lights, electrical panels, box latches and a new windshield. The seats are in really good shape and just need to be cleaned. It's just going to take a little time and a lot of elbow grease.
