Oberlin just wants the money. Call city hall asap and pay it and they won't report it. I know from experience with them.

Cities got to pay their employees somehow. Its funny how people get mad at cops for enforcing the law but they are just doing their job.

I usually get let out of tickets due to the fact my father is a police officer back in north Texas. Not saying I get pulled over often, just when I do they usually end in warnings. I just tell them my father is an officer. One officer put it like this...if your father works at the movie theater you get free drinks and popcorn..if your father is an officer, you get a warning. A motorcycle officer in Lake Charles told me that. Now THAT is a down to earth police officer. Some of these dudes and feMALES are some douche and a halfs.

Stinks you got that ticket man. I'm glad I didn't get pulled over coming back from lafayette, cops were working 2 wrecks in a half mile stretch so they weren't checking speeds.

X2.....when I was younger we would go to Indian Creek. If you did 1 mile over the speed limit you got a ticket. Talk about a bunch of REDNECKS in that area.....you did not even seem like you were in Louisiana.....

The cops in Golden Meadow would write their own mother a ticket. They don't care who you are. 1 mph over=ticket

They're brutal I work in Fourchon and we warn all the new hires but most of them usually still wind up with a ticket for 1 or 2 miles over the limit.

Are they still as bad as they used to be? "Nightline" ran a piece a few years back on the "Golden Meadow Speed Trap". I thought I heard they had settled down a bit after that.

I've heard they kinda backed off a lil bit. A buddy of mine said that it's due to a change in the law stating that any speeding tickets between 1 and 9 mph over, the city doesn't get all of the money but if it's 10+ over then they will get the usual amount of the price of the ticket. Don't know how true that is, just something I heard.

My dad only got 2 speeding tickets in his 74 years.
Both in Golden Meadow, on the same day.
