Default Got my Talon in yesterday!

Well got it all put on today and tested it out this afternoon with the wind blowin it's arse off and I can't be happier with it it is quick quiet and it sticks! The deepest water it held good in was 7.8 ft
All in all I'm happy with the purchase I fished off the back deck and it really dosent get in the way as much as I thought it would. Anyways just thought I would share with you guys undecided btw the pp and talon!

Did you have to drill to mount this or does it mount to existing hardware?

I bought the bracket. Not sure if I want to use it after seeing yours.

I'm happy with mine so far, been out 5 or 6 times since installed. It has done everything I have asked of it. If you're in soft mud it will bury pretty deep but have not had any problem getting it to release. I keep a 7/16 wrench handy just in case I have a problem. Mine is mounted to the transom and it holds the boat well and is pretty quiet.

Default No trim tabs

If you had trim tabs your current mounting position would be really close to where the trim tab is. I have trim tabs and would probably need to come off my jackplate.

Is there easy way to see if it's down when you take off? On the PP I just turn around and look at it. After 10am, I run off with mine down about 1/2 the time...depending on how many beers I've had...it's still hanging in there..

It has an alarm that goes off when you turn the ignition key on but it is barely audible to me. It has lights on the unit that you can see to tell if it's down also.

Checked into mounting mine today. Can't mount without the side mounting bracket that goes on the motor mount. I can't mount it due to a box and main stringer blocking me from getting to the backing plate and nuts.

He told me I needed the optional mounting bracket. After I seen yours, I figured I would try it like you mounted.
