Default Big Lake Trip -Top Water Extravaganza

Went Fishing with my dad and Kirk Stancel of HR&G this morning. We threw nothing but top water all morning polishing off a limit of trout and a few reds. All fish were solid, and we released two more around 6#'s. Kirk broke off on one that was a true trophy...

Fished the south end of west cove throwing topwaters. Never had to change baits, we fished the same 400 yard area picking up 4-8 fish everydrift. Then Kirk hooked up to a monster 30inch fish we estimated, and it broke him off on the shelf. Big fish in the lake now--

My dad caught a huge stingray also, my first ever seen on the lake, so watch out if wading...

I had my 3 oldest kids, the oldest 14, all throwing topwater this weekend. WE wade fished Coon Point surf, and Whiskey Island Saturday and caught some hammers! Largest went 20.75 inches, but we didn't weigh it. We finished with 31 trout Saturday, but we had 100 blow-ups! I would rather catch 30 trout on topwater then 130 on live bait!

Now all my kids want to throw topwater everytime, but they get fatigued easily. It is addictive!

Nice catch EBS- sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, just get a chubby with the topwater stuff!

FFF... I would rather catch 1 on artifical compared to 10 on live. I hate that LIVE STUFF....Which they would outlaw it....I know certin times of the years and places it is somewhat needed.....but some fish it all year round. When I hear someone talk about catching fish and they mention they use live bait I automatically get in mute mode for the rest of the conservation!

Is there going to be another youtube video? I love to watch fish busting topwater, especially when they're attached to my line.

I throw a spook. I have two different one's I have had for a while. My favorite spook, had caught several 7's ( I put a slit in the side for everyone) just cracked on the bottom. It kind of sinks a little, messed up. But wtreivers-spook, spook, spook, catch bigger trout..

Salty Good luck to ya'll boys show them how it is done--

I saw a boat run straight across the old jetty's Sunday... It was bad... We saw it coming from a mile away, but he was too far to be signiled. We were about to go see if they were alright when he started moving away, CRAZY! Can not believe he hit those submerged rocks and did not loose his lower unit. Had to atleast messed his prop up..
