Default New Dodge

All this talk on here about new trucks gave me the fever! I already owned a chevy that I purchased new in 08 that I was not happy with so I didn't want to go that rout again. The ford was sweet but my wife said that it rode like a tank and it only had a 60,000 mile power train on it. It was a very stiff ride. We drove the Dodge a fell in love. I ended up getting the 1500 Big Horn with the Hemi and 355 gears. Got it last night and rode around in it all day. Cruise set at 70 on the interstate today got 23 mpg. I like it so far.

Ive got a 97 1500 v8 magnum. 190k miles. Eats oil and gas but runs like a champ. Dodge makes some good stuff, I plan on my next trucking being a diesel dodge, gonna go with a cummings.

My new one is getting around 18-19 cruising on the highway, but I love that 5.7 Hemi. However, my driving habits puts me more around 16mpg on a regular basis. Depending on how much road rage I get that day, I may get even worse because that thing will flat run through some traffic!

I wish they were still doing the lifetime warrenty. I have had 2 Chevys that had to have new transmisions before 100,000 miles. I can't believe Ford only has 60,000 mile power train. I went shopping with the intention to buy a Ford cause they are running $8,000 off XLT crew cab with the 5.0 right now. But the Dodge had a better warrenty, much more power, and $2,000 cheaper. This is the first Dodge I have ever owned. Taking it on a 8 hour trip tomorrow. Anxious to see how many miles I get to a tank on the hwy.

Haven't hooked it up yet. I think there may be a break in period before you pull any thing. That is the one question I forgot to ask but I know my Chevy did. I'm gonna put over a thousand miles on it this weekend alone. Probably pulling the camper to Yogi Bear next weekend though.

There may be a fix to the oil burning...but not the gas consumption. Search for a Plenum kit. I bought mine from Hughes engines and it worked. I have a 98 1500 5.9 and it used to burn oil through a leak bw the plenum plate and intake. If you're somewhat mechanically inclined you can prolly fix it for less than $200.

Made it 462 miles to hartselle alabama with cruise set on 73 the whole way 6.5 hours up and down hills and mountains on 24 gallons of gas!! I was so pleased with the new dodge. My wife was saying there is no way this is only a 26 gallon tank. So I got to prove her wrong today when 23.8 gallons filled it up and gas is only 3.39 here too.
