Default 9.8.11 Great Weather Great Fishing on Big Lake

Finished our two man limit at 9:45 this morning. Continued fishing for about another hour and a half afterwards to check some different spots and caught fish on all of them. The two of us caught about 50 specks by 11:00 a.m. It was an exciting day on the lake after the lull we had since the storm. Water was gorgeous in the lake today. Cool weather and a hot bite made for a perfect morning of fishing. All fish were caught on Sand Eels and Lil' Johns.

Maybe 2 pounds. Nothing big today, just a bunch of good eaters. We might have caught 3 or 4 throwbacks out of the 50 or so we boated. I threw topwater for a little while to see if I could coax some better fish to bite, but they just didn't want it. As soon as I put the topwater down and put the jig back on, they were hitting it every other cast.

Thumbs up

That's a nice box of fish.

Capt B and I went yesterday and didn't do near as well as you did. We told each other it would be on today or tomorrow and we both already had plans for today.

Thanks for the report and the pics.

Yea I went and scouted the lake Tuesday and it was extremely tough conditions and fishing...only caught a handful of trout. Talked to a couple friends yesterday and they each caught in the 20-ish range. I knew it would be on today. This weather is gorgeous! wish it would stick around for a while....
