Default Holly Beach building codes

Well the kids had a good enough time this past weekend at Holly Beach, we are getting our old lots surveyed to find property lines. Sewer man is lined up for as soon as it gets surveyed and permits are filed. For now we will just park the camper on the old slab that is there but hopefully in the next year the inlaws will pony up for another camp. Like Ron White says they are LOOAADDDDDEDDDDD!! haha Does anyone have a link to where I can find all the building codes for this area? I know there is a 4 lot requirement and we have that covered. I tried searching and can't come up with anything. Thanks SC crew.

you will need a permit to park the camper as well. Google "cameron parish permits" they have a detailed web site

I was told by a friend of mine that he wanted to put a camper in Little Chenier on a piece of property he owns and they wanted to see his bill of sale for the camper. The camper is for his job and they wouldn't give him the permit without it.

They won't ask for bill of sale. I know a lot of people who have them down there.
Issue in Holly Beach is they want you to have sewer, elect. and water hook ups.
Building codes change now and then FEMA is pretty much setting them and the
parish follows them, or they lose funding if another hurricane comes thru.

We had a camp down there and a friend set up a camper in the back yard, parish
said they couldn't hook on to our water and sewer. This was before Rita.

If you get a slab and utilities, they won't give you a rash of crap.
You have to have 4 lots to have a sewer system. That is another catch.
Miles Hebert will tell you everything you need. Tina is not the one to talk to. She
is not the friendliest person in Cameron Parish...

Little Chenier is easier. They just don't want you dumping sewer out on the land.
They require a sewer system.

If you want a sewer system down there, PM me. I have a friend who is from down
there, and he knows all the regulations. His business is up here now.

thanks guys, they have 8 lots. I tried a few yrs back to get electricity and h2o without sewer and that wasn't happening even though the camper is self contained. We are going to have to put it to get the power and water. Won't be the same as having a camp but I can bring it down there but I just like the idea of sleeping in my own bed when I go somewhere. Got alot of memories from down there, I even have a 7 yr old, second grader who is a souvenier from one of our trips!!! A shirt would have been cheaper!!!
