Fished braid and mono for years and liked both(usually Sufix) with good results, recently went lighter with Trilene 10 lb flurocarbon and really like it. If a fish farts within ten yards of my line I know about it. Super sensitive, but have had break offs inside of the net and had to re-tie. It did handle a 9 lb red at Big Lake without any problems.

12ld seaguar flouro in the blue and yellow box, expensive but best flouro to fish with, I've used vicious and have had to cut off 20 yards every fishing trip it degrades fast and is stiff.

I dont see how people use braid for fishing plastics....No way... ![]() I use windtamer braid for my topwater rod but you dont get near the action that Mono provides working a soft plastic bait with jig head....

I dont use braid in salt water. I only tie uni to uni knots with fluoro in freshwater. Suffix mono works. I tie and re tie so much on baits that i dont wanna fool with leaders and such.

haha, was it really necessary to have a weight under the cork when the hook is weighted? |

By the way all the flourocarbon guys out there, you need to pick up some Pline Halo 15lb test. Awesome string. I pulled a 5.25lb bass out of a duck blind last weekend after wrapping me all up. String came out super frayed but never broke off. My cousin also pulled a nice 5lb fish through duckweed and over a huge limb then threw the bass in the boat with the same string. Real sensitive too. I tried the vicious and seager and I didn't care for either. They had a ton of stretch and sank way too fast. |

mono gives a bait better action in open water....more natural look......Go in a swimming pool and throw a sand eel with 10bl mono vs 20lb power pro...get underwater and watch as some one works each bait..
Fish notice that also......Just saying.......
