Default BL 11/5/11 (late post)

Sorry for the late post.

Got a trip together with "Bohunterbiff", his friend Ted, and myself. After the long awaited trip (almost a year) we launched at Ellenders bridge with high hopes.

Got to Turners, hopes soon died down. Robert hooked a 37.11lb big nasty on a glow/cart cocahoe. We picked a trout out of turners about every 10 minutes or so.

Speckdaddy text me and said birds were at mid lake---easy pickings.

It was true, caught a few fish per set until the trolling motor mounts broke on the boat.

We got a little frustrated, so we went to the ship channel. On the way there we seen a big group of birds forming, so we decided to make a drift. Picked up ~10 on that drift and the armada set in. Never seen 9 boats work a set of birds. No one lost their temper's, so we left before we lost ours.

Hit the rocks of the ship channel for reds, notta

Made a run to the salt ditch to a cut and picked up a small flounder.

Birds started working the whole width of the salt ditch and it was trout after trout until we hit 41.

Finished the day with 41 trout, 1 red, 1 flounder. All fish caught on Avacado/chart sand eel, glow/chart cocahoe, white gulp mullet and chart gulp mullet.

Winds sucked until about 11am

Special thanks to Jason (Speckdaddy), Jason (longcast) and Kade (saltyshaw) for the tips and tricks and the spots.

Thanks guys, Ii owe ya'll a beer.

had to crank up the big motor and chase him down. Robert (Bohunterbiff) hooked him and was worn out after 5 minutes. He was begging for mercy !!!!

Way to go Jordan! Glad to hear the good report. I was there at Turner's and we fished it for a little while...too crowded! We took off and hit a few spots and ended up with 5 reds, 5 flounder and 1 speck. Saltwater is GREAT!

Way to go Pookie. Asterisk and I fished Saturday morning. Ended with 13 specks and 1 red. Only fished till about 10:30am. Threw topwater will about 9:30. There was a buttload of birds in the middle of the lake but the wind was so bad, we got tired of messing with them and headed in to get some rest for the Bama game. Gave all our fish to a guy and a bunch of younginns fishing off the pier at Calcasieu point. They were pumped.
