Default Toledo 2/23 - 26

Got to the lake Thur about 1100. Put in at San Miguel with a 20 mph sw wind. Fished several coves and points for sacalait and bass. 1 dink bass.

Fri, headed north in search of sacalait. We tried svereal spots with no success. Talked to quite a few people and they had hammered the fish Thur morning. We did see a few sacalait caught. We were bank fishing. Friday evening bank fishing again. Caught about 6 sacalait on shiners. Some guys fishing by us were on the "spot" and caught them every cast for about 5 minutes on black/chartreuse road runners, then the bite slowed way down.

Sat morning went looking for bass and sacalait in Negreet. 2 dink bass, 2 good sacalait and 1 5 lb blue cat. Went back to where we caught a few Fri afternoon and it was packed with people and they were not catching. Went in search of sacs by boat. Caught 4 or so.

Sunday afternoon went bassin. Started in Negreet. Caught 4 or 6, with 3 being keepers. Also friend with me stuck a 6 1/2 lb sow. Went across to the Mounds. Caught 10 or 11 bass on road runners and traps. 5 were keepers.

From everyone we talked with, the sacalait are moving up. They are about a month early. Lake temp was 56 or so on main lake and almost 60 in most of the covs.

Thanks for the detailed report Jude. I sure wish you would have caught better though. Hopefully next time it will be on!
