Bounce Fishing in Africa

Was having a drink with a friend who is a manager of a boat company here when the conversation go to fish as is usual for me. He asked if would like to go fishing tomorrow? Is the Pope Catholic! So tomorrow we are going to see what we can hook. this should be interesting. I'll post some pics tomorrow. I'm excited.

I like it here no problems bru.

Well this morning I show up at the marina and wait and wait and wait. The guy who invited me show up with 3 other guys and some ahhhh entertainment. This was not the type of trip I was expecting. We loaded the boat a 36' cruiser. It was like a small yacht. And slowly started down the river. I was talking to the crew and checking out the fishing equipment. The crew told me, "Master, you want to catch fish?" lol I said I thought that's what we were going to do? And they all laughed! We rode out to the bay and the other guys were all hanging out inside drinking. It was 8am and they were drinking Jack and coke. I guess this was a Booze Cruise. We dropped anchor and I went outside and ran out a few lines with cut bait to see what was what. Caught these two fish. I'm not to sure what the other guys caught. I think their Tiger Fish. Pretty ugly but they fought good. Gave them to my housekeeper to bring home. I'm not eating anything out of this water. Didn't take any pics on the boat. Don't need that crap coming back on me. Good guys but I think we have different ideas about what a fishing trip should be. Did meet a few real fishermen at the marina and was invited to fish with them. Got some numbers and contacts. Hope to get some more fishing in soon.

Wow! Thanks for posting the pics. I showed them to my younger son (11), who is an avid angler and aspiring icthyologist. He reads tons of books on fishing, fish science, and classifications. He immediately identified them as tiger fish and cited a couple of books supporting his identification. I hope you have more chances to fish while you're over there, and I'm sure my son and I would appreciate seeing more pictures of your catches.
