Default How would yall feel about this?

It is referring to the idea of letting our bordering states fish and hunt in louisiana at in-state price if they let us do the same.

Default cool

it would be ok if we had more wardens to patrol the waters, cause we already have enough inconsiderate people on the water, i would imagine it would be even worse with out of state people on the water as well

No thanks. The LDWF gets enough budget cuts as it is without taking a hit from out of state license sales

it probably wouldn't be a loss meaux, cheaper prices means more sales, not trying to sway you just showing a fact

the article says they are putting it on hold to do a financial study... I wonder if they will release the results? Do you think if the law changes that 6 new people for every fishing license they used to sell would come here to fish? Thats not even including the 22.50 we get for a 1 day license. The difference in hunting license costs is even greater, which is why we offer 5 day license packages for non-residents. I dont really hunt or fish in other states, except for one weekend every now and then, and I know that wouldnt really change. Thats why most states offer a non resident package that is afforadable so I say leave it as it is.

In the grand scheme of things with what we spend on hunting and fishing every year I dont think that license cost is a significant portion of most peoples outdoors budget I know I spend more on shotgun shells every year than an arkansas duck license costs

I think that would be great. I would start hunting west Texas again. $300 liscense is steep.

Same here. I dont hunt other states but would really want to start. Only thing stopping me are the current prices. Since the family came along my money goes other places. Its enough just to spend the money to get out there. The liscense on top of that would be a killer.

I wonder what the other states think about this. I know that TX sells a lot of out of state hunting licenses, probably a lot more than the other states involved. Just wonder if TPWD would take that hit?

A non resident fishing liscense does not cost much. If someone's going to spend the money to make a trip to Louisiana that is the least of their concerns. I think it is a great idea. More money for the state and our businesses. I really don't think it will increase the competition any noticeable amount. It's a win/win.

We have the best fisheries in the country. The folks that are going to come and fish already do. May as well get what we can out of them. Besides, most Captains have a blanket license. Any out of stater can fish on his boat and not have to buy the out of state.

Personally it would benefit me....my father in law has a deer lease in MS that I hunt 1 weekend out the year dues to license fees, and my neighbor has a Fishing Camp in Bay St. Louis that I have to pay an out of state license for.
