Dont know bout weight but I do know some chiropractors told us in a seminar the other day that water beds are the worst for your back. Not trying to start something. Just stating somethin I learned a few days ago.

Not a problem, weight is sq ft so it is evenly distributed.

Just a ruff calulation came up with 45 lbs per sq. ft. load for a water bed.

I think I remember that most Appartments will not allow a water bed to be put on a second floor.

Best thing would be to call a place that sells trailers and ask them.

Also recommend you check "online" for prices.......much cheaper than from a local store.

I would not recommend it. It certainly can't do that trailer any good. I slept in a California King for many years, but, it sat on a slab.

Thats alot of weight in a trailer house! Plus, if there is a leak(and there will be) thats alot of flooring to replace!

On another note........if the house is rockin, dont come a knockin!!!!! Water beds are awesome in that aspect!!!!!!!

Dink I had a water bed that I got rid of , didn't think it was all that I couldn't dig in like a reg. bed. Had to go to the floor a few times.

But back to the original question. I would not put a waterbed in a trailer, they might not look like it but they weight a lot.

Dink, I'm sure he appreciates the input, being that it's for his daughter and all.

Seriously though, Harley if you decide to get one, I have a king size waterbed with frame/headboard in a rental house that I am giving away. It is in good condition with no leaks. The only condition is you have to come get it. PM me if interested.

According to this info, a king size bed would come in at about 1640# . I'd say "not good"....

I think this is actually a little low. A king size waterbed holds roughly 248 gallons. Water weighs in at roughly 8.3 pounds per gallon, assuming 70 degrees at atmospheric pressure. So a king size would weigh 2058-2070 pounds, depending..

A queen size would be around 1315, give or take

Don't worry about the weight. They are evenly distributed and the weight is not a factor. Also you can put a liner in it that will hold the water if the mattress springs a leak. Have three in a trailer for 10 years and never was a problem. Youngest son tried until he finally made it leak and the liner held the water. Go for it.
