Boat Flooring

Hey guys,
I have an aluminum boat Ive been working on and it has an aluminum diamond plate floor in it. I want to put a coating on the floor so that if we are on it barefoot it won't scald our feet. I don't want to put carpet down. I was just wondering if there would be some type of coating like bed liner that would insulate the aluminum enough that it would help. I know white would also probably help make a difference but it is going to be a hunting boat in the fall so I would need to stay darker. The only thing I have been able to find so far is the hydroturf that gatortrax offers. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have a boat in kinda same situation that I am thinking of hydroturf or seadeck, you can get different colors of bedliner but its high dollar and it will still be hot if you get very dark.

If u google hydro turf they have their own website u can order it off of in many different colors and a lil cheaper too.

I think bedliner would still get too hot. I know in my truck I wouldn't be in it barefoot during the summer. Carpeting my boat was well worth it. You could probably use rubber mats. Tractor supply has stall mats ive heard of people using. I dont think they wouod get as hot as aluminum but they would still get pretty hot

I did the inside of an aluminum boat in bed liner. Light grey. There certain types that color can be added. I did it myself for not much over $100. Got it priced to be done was around $500

Hydroturf is awesome, however, idk how well it would stick to the diamond plate. U may end up learning a very expensive lesson. Call gatortrax and ask if they have any experience with it

I have a light grey liner that was sprayed in in my bay boat and I really like it. It doesn't get hot on bare feet and it cleans easy but however on my next boat I will probably go with hydro-turf cause its cheaper and it adds a lil cushion.

what is the best material to use to make regular paint non-skid for a boats flooring? or theirs a certain type of roller to use to make paint come out rough?

Mix sand in paint and thick nap roller

Mix it in the paint..... or....... sprinkle on top right after putting it on?

paint im going to be putting with be thicker than sand so was wondering if there is any type of material that you can sprinkle thats thicker than sand and won't wash away as quick as sand?

My boat was just painted inside with what looks like one of the sponge rollers it has enuff texture not to be slick but its not real rough feeling

It sounds like hydro turf and safe floor are my two solid options to check out. I'll have to give gator trax a holler about the diamond plate and see if it would be an issue with the safe floor although I dont see it being one

Check out west marine they sell a product that is a gritted paint. It gives good traction and is light and comes in all colors. I painted my boat deck a grey color 3 years ago. It's still going good.
