Default Another VB Report 6-21-12

Made it to the bay yesterday managed to catch 21 specks and 24 whites was a great day with my buddy and his wife I tried to put them on the fish. They had never caught trout before and we gave in around noon to get some shrimp for their freezer.

Thanks for the report! I was about to start a thread to ask how the water is looking out there right now. Thinking about making a trip tomorrow. Did you stay in the bay or go the Pass? What was the water like?

The winds are going to pick up a little tomorrow. NOAA is calling for Bay Water Choppy. Thinking about hitting the dam early to pick up some skrimps then going to the pass.

Water didn't look that bad cove is looking good. Water was a little stained where we were at but had a good east to southeast wind blowing so should start clearing up. I fished the island near Bayou Michael and Bayou Lucien at the mouths with live skrimps it was on every cast till ran out of skrimp.

Did you have to run to the dam to get the shrimp? I'm thinking of opening a bait shop in the oldBayview and sale live shrimp. You could make a killing during the summer! Don't understand why no one has done this yet.

Last weekend when I picked up in the afternoon I saw there was a food trailer setup and ice machine. The sign by the road said beer for sale, not sure what else they had.

I don't know where any of the dams or at on the island to cast net. Could use a little guidance to them....... I pulled a 25ft trawl caught the shrimp. Me and my buddy Saturday were talking about the live shrimp starting to sell them cuz nobody in the area sells live shrimp just live cocahoes

Nice report! Good to see some trout being caught on the inside. And yes, the old Cove Marina by the launch was bought... Not sure of the timeline for its opening.

I've been seeing some folks working there, last friday night I went behind the bayview to bait up and cast net for shrimp. I noticed the lights on and shelves stocked but hasn't been open since last year. I think there's money to be made if run right and it's seasonal.
