I would think with the amount of rain we are getting everyday(especially today) that in a couple of days the only saltwater will be in the Gulf for a while. Up north is over for a while thats for sure!!!!

I postponed the trip down that I had planned for next week.

The whole west side of the state, from LC to S'port has been pounded by rain this week.

I'm gonna let it settle before I head back

Prien/Lake Charles will fall off from where it was.... already seeing a steady drop in salinity that tetering and after today that will continue. There is still alot of runoff to flushout from the north River area. You can still find em and i have done soo in alot less salinity, but the numbers and reports will be fewer. just talkin from experience.

So if you do go, do you look for clear water? North or South?

On a positive note, this will help the low water issues for duck hunting in our marshes. My marsh was just about to the point where I could not get the boat back to the blind with a long tail.

I will be out with the night boat this weekend and next week, hope the fish cooperate.

Rain keeps up, trout fishing north will fall off and too much more south will slow also if the salinity falls off.
