Default Lil Pecan - Mermentau R, Grand Chenier

Headin out to the Mermentau for Reds in the am with Crawl79, Weather Permitting... Gonna try our usual spots, but I heard of people fishing lil pecan bayou. I have only been up there a little ways and it looks like small curvy bayou. Wondering if anyone has any info on if the bayou holds reds or if there is access to marsh further down the canal?

Also, anybody been fishing the River lately?

Never went into any marsh but have caught a lot of reds in the bayou. Lots of little points and coves. Let us know how you do.

Last weekend the green break was only a couple of hundred yards offshore, run west and try that area. Wasn't much action in the river for us.

We ended up with six nice keepers in upper mud lake on spinners and gulp under a cork. Caught about 15 with the short fish all being at least 15". We ran up lil pecan and man it is pretty up there. We only fished a little while due to the wind. I lost one nice one due to trying to set the hook while working the trolling motor, and we caught two short fish in there.
only five fish in pic b/c Crawl took one when we dropped him off
