Default Grand Isle

Worked on the island today, thought we had much more to do and would have to stay the night and work tomorrow, but knocked it out. Like others have said most everything is up and running. Those people down there don't sit and wait for help for sure. Hwy 1 from Fourchon to GI full of debris on the sides that was being loaded into dump trucks and hauled off. There was some really nice pieces of 'driftwood' on the sides of the road. The entrance to Elmer's was closed, but most of the beach on the main island is still open, not sure about the state park didn't make it that far. Camardelles was not open yet but was being worked on, Bridgeside looked to be open by the trucks that were there. Water looked really good

I talked with Dodie at Bridgeside today and she said that they are open for business. The Redfish Rodeo that was scheduled for Labor Day has been rescheduled for next weekend at Bridgeside.

On the way to island on the left they had an old propane tank.....probably 250 gallons on the north side of LA1 right past the substation that feeds Fourchon. Did you notice if its still there. If we wouldn't have been in a work van we would have picked it up.

It would make a nice smoker

I didn't notice, they were loading up lots of the debris, but there was still plenty out there. I don't foresee that driftwood staying on the roadsides very long though, some of it would be worth lots of money to a taxidermist. That will be gone pretty soon. The water in the gulf and Caminada Bay looked awesome though.
