you can take the carbon build up out much easier and better with some powertune. no need to run a bunch of fuel through it.

I was told that seafoam is not good for an outboard. This is coming from an very reputable source. I would use the powertune over seafoam.

after you take the carbon out, run ringfree in your fuel in each tank. it will take care if the carbon build up and you wont have to decarb.

I recommend doing your decarb at the Port of iberia boat launch. very little boat traffic and excellent place to work on your boat or trailer...

The price of Yamaha ringfree is ridiculous $50 for 32 oz here in Lafayette (Dealer)....I need to find a new source...

I was told Seafoam was the best thing you could run...Now I'm totally confused and would really like to find out. Any outboard mechanics care to comment on this?

I have an idea of your source and either he told you wrong or you heard wrong, either way you an idiot..... Seafoam is made to use in a 2 stroke, it's labeled for it, don't use Chemtool B12 because it dries seals and seats

You could do it at the house if you have the waterhose attachment to go to your motor. This is a must do if you have a neighbor with a Prius

True Mercury Powertune is the best. Ive seen some really good results in motors w/ low compression on a cylinder.
