Default Summary Duck Report

I have posted a few of these pictures, some are new. I was down at the camp with my family and then with a few friends over the past seven days, today was back to reality. Here are some of the pictures. The hunting has been great the past 3/4 days with a little weather change, Thanksgiving day and black Friday were tough. We fished on Tuesday afternoon and had our 40 flounder in an hour. The wind and rain has certainly improved hunting at the properties that I hunt.

I decided to do them myself this year, cleaners in Hackberry have priced themselves to high for me. $4.00 per bird this year to pluck and $2.25 to breast. The guide units keep them in business, locals aren't going to spend that kind of money to clean birds or at least I will not.

Casey, you are Jadams like, when you get to go. Good pics, but next time, could you rotate them? I have a bad crick in my neck now......Congrats on the hunt and fishin trips.

Sorry about that, they were correct when I pulled them up from my computer. Thanks for the kind words but I am not in Jadams league, I did hunt with him on Tuesday, we had a good trip. It is nice to hunt by myself this year without guides, it presents a big challange and makes me really appreciate how hard those guys work and how much they know but I also enjoy the challange of killing "my own ducks". I can't tell you how much time I spent since last season working on my calls, with my dog, shooting, and learning more about the sport. I am an all in kind of guy.

What I have learned is that I have a great deal left to learn. You guys that grew up duck hunting have forgotten more than I will ever know, I respect that.

It has been so long since I have shot a bunch of them, have almost forgot how to pull the trigger. Call next time you are over, I'll teach you some of York's Secrets.

Beautiful hunt and fish pics! Are you shooting the pond that had salvania problems? Looks like you're on them!

We have the same issue in GC with the cleaners charging too much! We pluck/ clean and breast them at the camp now....gives a better appreciation to the hunt.

Shooting all over really, early in the year in a ricefield I leased in Welsh, black lake lease, "salvania lease", and our club in Texas. I went a little nuts and spent to much $ next year I will only keep the producitve ones.

Sounds like a plan. I even called old York for a flounder tip last week, he had to feel like he "arrived" with that call. Of course I did not get a bite out of his spot.

You know how he is .........it was a big smoke screen. I even went out and caught flounder today. Blast and Cast success is very un-Pligrim Angler-like :*****:
