Default New reel?

I need a new reel and was wondering what is the best reel for inland fishing? I have a curado and like it. Is there something better?

I have the h2o mettle. I was thinking no way this thing can last for 29.00
So I was looking at the higher end shimano, Like the chronarch or the core.
By the way the H20 cast farther than anything i have ever used but the drag is not nearly as smooth as my curado.

I bought a Core and still throw my 200e7 over it. Can't beat em IMO. I just love the size of them. Fit in my hand perfectly. Look on ebay and you can still find the 200e7's. I have 6 of them and plan on buying more.

e7 is the older previous Curado. The g7 is the new line. Shimano just started using cheaper/plastic parts on the new ones. They aren't as good as the old ones. So basically now the Chronarch is the same as the older 200e7's.

Default H20

Mettle all the way... that's all I buy now...I do not rinse them because i have found the water gets in and freezes the bearing that is on the handle.. these are easy to pull apart and clean... I spray them with reel majic after trips... the main problem that you will have is the bearing on the handle..I use to buy expensive reels but cost 20 bucks to have them cleaned so I figure I would just by a new one and keep the old one for parts...They cast just as good as any other reel beside my supercaster but the supercaster didn't hold up at all.

I agree it cast better than anything. I pull apart spray it well with reel magic and so far so good. 29.95 is just crazy cheap.

True. I have over 10 of these reels and bulletproof. Use them all the time. They cast and fish great. They are a little heavy but well worth the money. Best part is that it is an Academy brand reel and they are great with the warranty. I have taken several back after they get rough or just old and they exchange them for a new one over the counter. Cannot beat that option. I spent $40 cleaning my last Curado- Coulda bought 2 Mettle reels for that. I still love the size of my old Curado 50E, but alot more money than the H20.
