Default Perspective

As the push to ban "assault weapons", high capacity clips, etc. continues, I wanted to try and put things in perspective for myself. While every life is precious, this shows how small a number deaths by gun are - in relation to tobacco and even alcohol. Chart shows mortality numbers by select means.

Full disclaimer - these numbers were taken from various sources and were as recent as i could pull using limited time (they were the best numbers I could get). I did not reference them either. Don't hold the numbers as gospel. Again, just meant for perspective...

I bet most of those knife death were Rambo type knife. The gov't should spend a couple of billion dollars on a committee and research this and then try to ban all Rambo knives.

Mike thanks for your research in order to provide visual hard numbers to gun deaths.

Its this type of data, that should open peoples eyes as to the governments claim that firearms should be greatly regulated or banned all together for the sake of peoples lives.

Looking at this data should get citizens minds thinking just what is the governments actual objective. The peoples lives argument the government is using is not supported by the data. So what is the real reason? For those who have their eyes and minds open already know the real answer.

I think one subject over looked is abortions! Look at how many innocent little children are being killed each year, yet they are trying to take our guns away from us because of a few evil people!

And making abortions more accessible. Hypocritical of the stance of saving lives isn't it.
