![]() Hunter underwent radiation treatment at St Jude's and finished in May. Monday he went back for his first post treatment checkup and I'm happy to report that there has been NO additional growth to the tumor and the surrounding swelling is way down. It's still to early to say but initial indications are excellent! ![]() Hunter has a different outlook on life. This experience has changed him as a person. I know it has also changed me, my wife and our relationship. Out of everything bad comes something good. God has a plan. |

That is great news! I admire anyone who can endure what you, as parents have and, still maintain your sanity. I'm so glad to hear this news of your son's progress and, he'll be in our prayers.
Glory be to God. |

Thank you all for the prayers and support. It does help me to post on here. I tell my wife it's my therapy. ;-)
This entire experience has been very difficult for my wife and I. Probably more so for her. She has always been a professional with a career. Since this has happened she has resigned from her job to be there for our son. The stress has also caused her physical pain. Recently her doctor has had put her on medication to help her with the stress. I handle it differently. I am more detached I guess. I throw myself into my job and trust that God has a plan for us. I've actually become much more spiritual through this and have learned to put it in his hands. I know there is nothing I can do to change things and to accept his will. This experience has also pulled my wife and I closer. She seems to lean on me more and trust me to lead the family. In the past we have always struggled for control in our relationship. Now she defers to me more which has allowed us to get along better. I think she had trust issues which prevented her from being submissive? I don't mean to sound like a chauvinist because I'm not what I'm saying is someone has to be in charge of a family and before this we always struggled. Now things are smoother and we get along better. She trusts me and knows I'm not going to do anything that will hurt her or the family. She looks to me to make decisions now. Of course she puts in her two cents but she allows me to make the final decision. It only took us 16 years and a child coming down with a brain tumor to get to this point but I'm thankful we did. I don't know how much longer our marriage would have lasted with both of us fighting for the pants. |

Congrats on the positive report. I just try to take it one day at a time in crisis situations. Don't have as many ups and downs that way. God is good all the time even if we don't understand.
