Owner reports on Billy Stix

I'd like some hands on reports on Billy Stix rods. Yes, I know he's a sponser and I appreciate that. I love the looks of the rods he builds. but I need some hands on experience. I personally like a 7' rod, med-light action. 15-17 lb test line rating. Can anyone give me give me any comparison to a G.Loomis rod (which I presently own)to a Billy Stix. What's the present warranty on his rods and any problems redeeming warranty. Thanks for any input.

i cant give you a hands on report due to the fact that it would be a one sided report, now i will say that g lomis was at one time the finest rod built and even today they are still very good rods, so i cant and want try to break them down.
But in my own defense i build a very top of the line custom rod that i put a lot of time and pride into, all my custom rods are hand built one rod at a time, almost all other brands are assembly line built, as far as do i give my customer a hard time when he has a problem, the answer is "no" i would be a total fool to do this, i have tried for many years to build my reputation and i will not let one single bad rod destroy years of hard work, and yes i will not just be taken advantage either, if my clien has a geniune complaint or problem then i feel as the owner of billystix custom rods to try to correct the problem, even if i have to go overboard to acomplish that.
So with this said my warrenty is"make the customer happy in the begging and keep him happy thruout"
now i am not trying to impress you in any way , i am just offering you my point of view on customer service which is priority#1 to billystix custom rods, so fish with the rod that makes you happy, and i will let the owners of thier rods answer your question, i just wanted to offer my imput.

I believe every person who has had a billystix made for them on the Cajun has always loved thier stix...I am sure these guys have fished with some of the "major" rods as well...give it time they will reply. Billy is a hustler, he knows his stuff...

i absolutely love my billstix. It was a suprise to me... i didnt tell him how to build it or what to put on it. He completely build me one and sent it to me without even knowing what he did. It is absolutely awesome. Couldnt ask for a better rod. It beats all my other rods hands down. I have fished with castaway, shimano, and quantum... these are garbage compared to my stix. its a spiral guide. My next one will be custom built to my specs and will definately have a split grip. Im in love with the split grips.

I can say this...I haven't fished with a billystix yet but I will as soon as it comes in. One thing I can tell you is that from day 1 you get top notch service from a top notch guy in Billy. Everything I have heard about people that have used his rods before is positive. When you get your rod built, you get it the way YOU want it, not the way some guy at a factory wants to build it.

My 4th Stix rod came in yesterday afternoon. The Blue Viper. But I won't see it till Tues., I am offshore.
They are tough, but I don't try to break any rod, no matter who made it. I take care of all of them. Even though, I have broken a few offshore rods and a couple inshore rods.
All the Stix rods look and feel great, they are built like you want them to be built.
There is no click and save on what features you want. You talk to a human and tell them how you fish and how you want the rod to look and feel when using it.

Stix - just got my Blue Viper in today - Amazing Work!! Have already shown it around the neighborhood and it got rave reviews!
