Default Marsh work the last 2 days

This is what we have been doing the last 2 days at one of my duck marshes just north of Holly Beach. Have 2 machines in marsh working from dawn to dusk.

We were doing the same thing today, except no fancy machine. Mud boat, machete, and brush cutter attachment on a weedeater........ I really enjoyed that first cold pop once we got back to the launch.

You have to get any permits to dig in the marsh in this fashion?? We used to do the same on our lease with the exact same type of machine but we were told recently we now need permits to dig mud boat ditches in the marsh.

Yes you need permits and it's a big hassle. I had to fill out about 12 pages of an application, attach 2-3 maps, make a drowing of the scope of work and pay $100 application fee. Then sent back to cameron parish police jury then onto the state. Got approval from state then had to get approval from police jury. Got that and had to get approval from gravity drainage board. Then pay another $30 fee for permit from police jury.

For $500 i'll do all the work for you. You pay the application fees of $130 in addition.

Even if you own the land u still need the permit. The process to get them is a pain but its much easier and cheaper than getting caught without the proper paper work. Trust me.
