What a trip. Waiting on pics from j. Will text me pics soon I hope, gave him the fish. Slow start, but big nasty finish. Final fish count was 1 fresh water cat, 4 reds, 18 specks, All caught on plastics of course. LSU color was what they wanted. Well got the nasty finish. Left them hitting at 2:30 and took a short cut home. Yep, I took a wrong turn and we was bone dry in the mud. Way off course according to my gps. I can't find the idiot button on it, but I sure know how to make wrong turns. Well we dragged in the mud looking for deep water, no such luck! Walked the levee to get to a camp, big cut in levee. Well called my very good friend Rodney who agreed to come get us and the boat! Yea d. Was with me too. Well Rodney found us, prettiest mud boat I ever saw! Towed us to deep water and we ran in following him. You see I'm 1 of those smart fellows that don't need no emergency lights or anything. Man it coulda been much worst. That fog was real wet if we woulda been still back there this morn. We got home about midnight, tired and I mean dog ars tired! Well I'm gonna get me emergency lights and make sure I have everything in case I ever go through that again. Which I do pray to god not to. Why am I giving you too much info, because it could happen to anyone! Have fun fishin, but be prepared. Thanks for reading. A very special thanks to Rodney and his beautiful mud boat and Eric helping him. Mt apology to d. And j. Hope y'all both come fishing again!

Glad you guys made it back safe & sound all though tired out.
I fish out of a 14' skiff in Leeville with a 20hp motor, which means I ain't going far :0).
I have a little "emergency" water tight box I always carry with me. A few things I carry in it are: battery operated vhf radio with extra batteries, small strobe light, small flash light, air horn, band aids, peroxide. And of course, I never leave the dock without my auto life jacket & cell phone. Lesson Learned, next time I have a feeling you'll have a few additional items on board. Good luck on that next trip!
