A Maringouin woman is in jail after she allegedly impersonated a court official and ordered the State Police Crime Lab to destroy her toxicology samples.
Investigators say 23-year-old Jana Pourciau was arrested earlier this month for DWI.
State police say on Tuesday, Pourciau called the crime lab from her cell phone, used a fake name, and claimed to be from the 18th Judicial District Court. Officials say Pourciau told lab officials that the toxicology samples could be "because the case had been dismissed and was not going to be prosecuted."
Pourciau also allegedly sent the crime lab an e-mail from her personal address stating the same.
Pourciau is charged with forgery and false personation
