Headed out at 6 am went and gave turners a shot an picked up a few nice trout but I can't handle that big of a crowd. So we went south on the west bank and there were birds everywhere. We had a limit by 10 am and throwing back anything we had to measure we also caught 7 reds water was calm an a little stained but not that bad. We fished the west bank about mid lake. I caught all mine on sand eels and my uncle caught all his on a DOA under a popping cork. Tried to catch a monster trout from 11 am til 2 pm no luck! I cant find the big boys

easy...... Trim them out with your knife..... Dont cut into the ribs a and filet from the tail up....when you hit the ribs stop.... and start on top by the head and cut around the ribs....this leaves you a perfect red on half shell...

That is how I do the big ones. But it is still a pain.
I only keep them small ones now.

Was on Turners Bay same time and had boat after boat cut me off. I then went to the ship channel and chased the birds there - boated around 50. Caught and released 2 monster specks - one 25" and the other was 27". The trout were not plentiful but huge.
