Default VBay 9-20 and 9-21

Anybody making it out to the bay this weekend? Looks like rough weather Saturday, and I'm guessing we'll have chocolate milk on Sunday.

Haven't seen any reports. Did anybody have luck this past weekend? The reefs or offshore?

Caught five white trout and some gaftops at Caldwell Saturday. Caught over 100 trout there the weekend before though. Tried blue point and around the camps also on Saturday but it was rough. We got beat up crossing the bay and coming back. I usually don't cross with winds like that but my buddy lives out of town and wanted to go.

bunch of small fish at Caldwell as usual. Bay was definitely fired up Saturday afternoon. Still a fun day of catching. Tried diamond, tete butte, couple close rigs, dry reef as well. Caldwell had the most action

Should be a lot of people out there this weekend. The Dons boat landing Tournament is this weekend. Probably fish it Friday only and hunt the rest of the weekend though.

I've still been heading out past the pass on each of my trips. Has anybody had any luck yet in the bay? Anybody been fishing the Trash Pile, Hammock, Dry Reef, etc.? I'm heading out Sunday with a few friends, and I'd rather not waste their time trying the inside stuff if the bite's not on yet. Thanks folks.

I like to go offshore but still looks like will be breezy Sunday. I will be keeping an eye on weather before making a decision.
Saturday is out for me for sure. 15-20 knots winds and 2-3ft. offshore.

I'm waiting for the specks to show up at the cove (take a left out of Quintana canal along the rocks and beyond). The salinity is still quite low so I'm guessing it's going to be several weeks before they move further into the bay around Cypremort Point. Right before Thanksgiving last year a guy that had been fishing the cove in a kayak GAVE me a box (22) of 3-4 lb. specks. He told me he couldn't fit any more in his freezer. THAT was a great day. It also made me buy a kayak for Christmas last year and I can't wait to get out there this fall.

Have you made it offshore in the last two weeks? If so, any luck? I went two weeks ago and got skunked in all of my usual spots. Came inshore and found some good trout.
