Yup its pocket gophers. I work on a project with wildlife and fisheries biologist dept. On a pine snake project. And that is the number one food source for pine snakes. Thats the only reason I would know this useless information. Years ago when we saw em I thought it was ant mounds. But when you kicked en....no ants.

these are the leafcutter ants here but yes the gopher mounds are real similar

you still work on the pine snake project? you work out of LC?
