Not sure if I did the links correctly. This video shows a guy get shot so if you open it you know what you are getting into. If the video doesn't work just go to youtube and search Sgt. Green camera footage. You can also watch it from his partners angle. Sgt. Green is a very tactical officer. Not only can he shoot well he does one extremely smart thing. Who notices what he does?

That was awesome. No questions on this one, exactly why LEOs should strike until every last one is outfitted with a camera.

2 things: moves the knifes out of easy reach on the table, and when ol boy drew he grabbed his arm to allow his partner to get the draw on him. And he managed to beat her on the draw too.
This just shows the ridiculous crap police officers have to deal with. It's a job I would love to do, but don't believe I would be level headed enough to do. |

I saw two things.
1. The knife on the table he pushes aside and turns and watches his partner and the perp. 2. Outside he stays behind the perp and when a gun is produced he grabs the guys head and directs him away, control the head, controls the body. |

Good eyes. I'll hammer a police officer that gets trigger happy but I will also be very thankful for an officer that is smart and does what he has to if it has to be done. I am very glad these two officers get to go home to their family.

You have to commend the female officer for bringing it outside. It looked like the male officer wanted to question the guy right outside of the bathroom. That could have been bad for patrons in the restaurant.

That was very intense.
Do ya'll think this guy was intentionally committing "police suicide" or was he trying to shoot the officers? It's hard to believe that he wasn't able to get even one shot off but now that you pointed out how the male officer directed his head away it makes more sense. Also, it looked to me like the female office grabbed the man's arm (or tried to) when he pulled his weapon instead of turning away from him. This prevented him from extending his arm to aim and fire at her. This action that she did instinctively probably saved her life. I would imagine one's first move when they see a gun drawn on them would be to turn away and not try to grab at it. It looks to me like they were both well trained. And the male officer made a few great shots when he opens fire. Actually, one of the first 2 or 3 shots looked like they turned off the perp's light switch. |

Read that it was a BB gun he had. That tells me it was 100% suicide by cop.

Haven't seen that but wouldn't doubt it. After watching the video lots of times I do think you are correct. Cops fired 12 shots. 9 by the male officer and 3 by the female officer. I believe they were 100% accurate in their decision. 4 seconds from gun drawn by bad guy to first shot fired by officer. I can put 4 rounds on a 12"x14" plate per second. If he wanted to shoot he had plenty of time. He could have started inside but was easily escorted outside. I think suicide could be the case.

Maybe it wasn't cop suicide............
"James Bushey, 47 (left), was apprehended by cops in the bathroom of the chain restaurant in Palestine, Texas, on May 31. He had reportedly stolen a case of beer from a nearby Walmart. Bushey - whom toxicology reports say was 20 times over the drink-drive limit" dosent add up, cop suicide. Why go to wally word steal beer, then to applebees. Im betting he used the BB gun at wally word to take the beer, was so smashed by the time the cops found him and in his stupor thought he could bluff the cops too..... never the less, stupid is as stupid does |

It was a BB gun and if you watch again, the woman LEO pulls her taser first and then switches to her gun. I thought suicide to, but if he was that drunk it could have been just a stupid decision.

Talk about a bad decision while you are drunk, huh? I have made many regrettable decisions while drunk but this one tops the cake.

Not having a safety to click off in that situation was nice.

A safety doesn't slow down a shooter that knows how to use their weapon. I do love my Glock and XD but my 1911 was my competition gun and I never felt that my times were slower due to the safety. I was actually faster with my 1911 than either my Glock or XD.

This dude should have listened to George Thourogood and, drank alone!
Great discipline by the officers and, awesome way to move the confrontation (even if it would have been minor) away from patrons. |

True. The safety is clicked off as you're bringing the gun on target. There is no time lost with a practiced shooter.
