Default ZERO dead fish in Big Lake

I hit the whole perimeter of Big Lake today and didn't see any dead fish.
I didn't go up into any of the bayous or ditches. Just ran along the edges.

Well that's some great news considering what we've been hearing from other areas.

Ray, did you go into West Cove? I think I saw a report of some dead fish there.

I bet the north inlet to West Cove was very shallow today with the low tide.

I kicked up mud in most of West Cove, except along the South shore.

I saw no dead fish anywhere. All I saw floating was a couple of coke cans and
crab trap floats.

There may have been some in the days before I went. The tide already went out
and was coming in the whole time I was running. I found some good reefs with my
PVC pipe and I found some with my outboard motor too.

Water was at least 2 ft. below normal around the South end of the lake and lower
than that at Calcasieu Point.

The water was so slick on the South end of the lake, and she sun was shining so
bright, that you could see anything floating on the water from a long ways away.

Default Sabine

We hunted Sabine today and saw one 6" drum and one perch dead back in a pond. We didn't see anything in the canal. I was very surprised since I was in Sabine in '83 and '89 and saw reds too numerous to count after those freezes particularly after the '89 freeze.

I saw a lot of fish swirling when I got close to them on the South side of the lake.
Water was flat calm. I could see them swirl, but couldn't tell if it was Reds or Gar.
