Default to break in or not to break in?

My new 40 four stroke tohatsu came in Friday but couldn't get to the dealer fast enough for install so I am going on this Thursday. I asked the dealer if these new generation engines need to have the old school break in procedure done on them, he said no, he said four strokes get oiled good enough every time the piston comes down so there is no need to slowly break them in. He said keep it about three quarters throttle for a while and you'll be fine. However, I got on the tohatsu website and they have it listed that the 40 four strokes need a 10 hr break in cycle. Who do i believe, the dealer or the tohatsu website? Part of me thinks tohatsu just put that on their site to cover their ***. So my main question is what does everybody else do when they by a brand new four stroke?
