Default letsbetotallyclear.org.......have yall seen this?

I'm sorry bar tenders and musicians, but if you dont like smoke.......find another job!! Or open your own place and make it non-smoking. Lets see how long it lasts!

I don't mind not being able to smoke in a restaurant. I DO mind not being able to smoke less than 25 ft from the door of my buisness.......and I definatly mind not being able to smoke in a bar!!!

Is it really that hard to step outside of a bar to smoke? The 25 feet is a bit far fetched though.

Yes......I think it should be the owners choice to have smoking or not, then let the patrons decide if they want to have a beer there or not

well, not to get in a big debate or nothing on this subject cuz smokers want to smoke and nonsmokers dont. but I went in a bar one time in NYC and they are smoke free up there. It was a totally different and MUCH more enjoyable experience than the bars down here. Now this was years ago and I dont even go in bars anymore and havent in many years(heck only went prolly 4-5 times total anyway) so it really doesnt matter to me. but from an owners standpoint I feel like theyd probably make more money by not allowing smoking

most the bars I go to have an outdoor patio for the smokers.....much nicer since I don't smoke, nor do I want to go home smelling like smoke.

Although, back in my music playing days, I actually liked playing in smokey bars. Seemed to always set a better scene.

Coolers on Ryan St. don't allow smoke. And they have live music now and then.
I like the fact that you can get 5 long necks in a bucket of ice. Don't have to
go back and fourth to the bar to get beers.

I am a heavy smoker but I wouldn't care if I had to step outside to "burn one". If most places would just make a little 'bull-pen' for us when it's 30 degrees outside. I think it kinda sucks @ Tiger Stadium, there is no designated area inside and if you walk outside they won't let you back in. Three hour games seem like an ETERNITY...

as a nonsmoker I agree with this, but going to coolers is nice and being able to leave without smelling like an ashtray. And also like the buckets o beers.

This is a debate that could go on for days, but I myself am a smoker and prefer not being able to smoke in a bar. My reason being you don't smell like an ashtray when you leave, your hangover the next morning is a lot less painful, and I also find that I smoke a lot less when I can't just light one up at will. All of us smokers can't deny the fact that is bad for you and maybe this will help detour us from smoking as much. So with that being said I am on the "letsbetotallyclear" bandwagon.

Hey Bellpepper, if that chick in your avatar wanted to smoke in a bar I bet you wouldn't mind one bit.

The government knows that smoking kills, why don't they illegalize it. They are perfectly content to accept the tax revenue derived from the habits of their citizens. If they aren't going to make it illegal then what gives them the right to mandate whether or not a private business owner chooses to allow or not allow smoking in his/her establishment. If we continue to give them more and more control over our lives one day we will have none left.

I agree, it should be up to the owner of the business. But I am glad there are some smoke free bars. I will hit the smoke free ones before I go to the smoking ones.
I think Darrels has been fighting this for a year or so.
