Default Vermillion Bay Sunday

Just joined the site after reading reports for a long time and using the information to plan my trips so thought I would start sharing some reports. I fish Calcasieu, Vermillion Bay, Pecan Island, Grand Cheiner plus several freshwater Bass spots.

Yesterday went out to Vermillion Bay West Side with the wife, which meant a late start from home. Launched out of Intracoastal City fished the west side of the Bay. Water looked good for V-Bay, just not quite salty enough for the trout to really move in. We caught plenty of redfish and Big freshwater catfish non-stop from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Wife wanted to go boat riding so we shut it down with the fish biting and went burn some gas. I'll try to get pics loaded.

Awesome catch. It's great to see another guy from our end (V.Bay) posting, our people tend to be really tight lipped. I also heard a report of trout being caught in weeks bay. Two weeks ago I saw a loose flock of birds working off of a point out of Marsh Island, didn't stop to investigate though.

I had a couple of friends that went to this area Friday and didn't catch any specks and only had a few bites from small reds. Hopefully with the Basin dropping it should turn on shortly.

A old man that lives 2 houses down from me caught 15 nice specks in weeks bay last week. He is a fishing machine though,he catches when I scratch.

I like seeing some vbay reports, keep em coming. I can't hardly wait to make the first trip of the year now that the ambassador extension is complete, it'll prolly cut off about 20 minutes for most laffayrtte guys
