Default 7/8 Rockefeller & Big Lake

Hit the rock in the morning to show a friend that had never salt water fished how to catch shrimp / crabs and then fish for some fish on BL.

We shrimped from about 8am till 11am did okay ended with just a little shy of 20lbs. Shrimps were a bit smaller than last time.... but not bad at all.

Hit BL about noon, launched at the jetties. Picked up a couple trout around the jetties (one was very nice sized) and toyed around with some undersized reds.

Then switched to trying for some flounder, Chart Gulp on 1/4 oz as the tide slowed and turned was the ticket. From about 2-4 we picked up nearly a 2 man limit. They were happy with just the gulp, and my buddy was tearing up that way.... but i couldn't buy a bite unless i tipped the gulp jig with either a piece of shrimp or a cocahoe (that we caught while shrimping)

Had to hit the road at 4 so we wouldn't fall out on the 2 1/2 hr drive back.

Thank goodness for BC powder!

Tired, Sore, Sunburned.... and happy.

And flounder stuffed with shrimp / crab / and stuffing is some good stuff.

Sorry no pics... The family ate it all!!!

super slow retrieve... almost a drag across a sandy bottom in about 5 ft of water. Have a thump... count till 10 check to see if its still there.. and then cross his eyes.
