Weir Fishing Help

Went to Big Lake yesterday and was fishing the birds until about 11:00 (boated over 100+ fish) when they disappeared. I had read about how good the fishing was at the wiers, so I made the run. I get there and these to great guys called us over and gave us their spot. Now is where I need the help. Stayed there for about an hour and all we could catch was black drum on shrimp. All the boats within spitting distance were putting reds in the coolers except us!!!!

How do you fish the weirs? Do you use shrimp, mullet, artificials? Fish deep with heavy weight, or light weight and drift the bait? Where do you position the boat?
