Default Is Big Lake on Catch and Release

Ok guys,
I have been out of town and when I returned, my wife told me that Big lake was now on Catch and release. i have tried to research it and all that i can find is that the star tourney is catch and release but is it for all of the fishing in Big lake?

It is part of the STAR tournament. It is not mandatory, but if you do want to catch, tag and release, you are elegible for additional prizes.

Thanks Ray, and do what do you know about just recreational fishing on Big lake? Without being in the star tourney? Do we have to catch and release then?

Your probably refering to the change in the Star Tourney...Being that alot of the east side of the state is only catch and release, or will be under catch and release the Star has changed it's rules when it comes to catching Tagged Redfish, you only have to submit the tag now, not the fish, they want you to cut the tag and release the fish, i'm sure this is what you have heard.
